Unlike cluster flies, who enjoy warm, sunny spots, earwigs are nocturnal and love nothing more than a cool, damp area to get away from the heat. After overwintering underground, their eggs hatch and mature, and begin to feed on your dead plant material and sometimes live plants and other yard greenery. As the summer grows hot and humid, they seek the cool of your basement or garden shed, where they can be quite a nuisance.

For that reason, it’s a good idea to limit plantings and damp spots around the foundation of your home, as well as to kill as many adults as possible to prevent the birth of a new generation next spring!

We can protect your house by treating around crack and crevices around the house, such as flower-box, foundation and other areas where they like to hide.

If earwigs re not the only pest problem at your home, you might benefit from our Residential Home Protection Plan — Contact Richard at 1-866-685-1481, or email us, for a free estimate today!
